Sign-ups:
In Town Baseball Sign-up: please register by 3/22/10 by (1) attending a registration session listed below (bring your checkbook) or (2) using your credit card at the online registration page on this website. The $90 registration fee includes a hat and t-shirt (samples will be available to try on at the registration sessions & Swap). Baseball pants will be available to order at the equipment swap (see below), or attend the swap and see if you can find some used ones. GRAA Travel Players playing in-town should register through their team's administrators/coaches. Registration sessions (shirts, pants samples will be available for try on): Tuesday 3/2: 4-6pm at 184 Midland Avenuethe Swap Wednesday 3/3: 6-9pm at 184 Midland Avenue Friday 3/5: 6-9pm at RAS Cafeteria at the Baseball Equipment Swap Saturday 3/6: 10-12 at the Swap Late fee: a $25 late fee will be strictly imposed after 3/22. Please sign up on time. Registration will be closed as of 4/2/10. All sign ups are on this web site on the online registration page. Equipment swap: Hey, it’s a recession… so we’re going to hold a spring sports equipment swap this year. Bring any old gloves, bats, cleats, baseball pants, lax sticks, helmets, etc. to RAS Cafeteria on Friday 3/5 from 4-6pm. Then, come back on Sat 3/6 from 10am-12pm to shop through the assembled gear. General Info: The 2010 season will begin Saturday March 27 and run through the first week of June. In 2009 we began using the Ashley’s Dome on weekends to give us more field space (in addition to the fields at Sherman, Forest, Carteret, Brookdale and Glenfield) and we’ll continue with that plan this year. In addition, we’ve hired several local baseball coaches to work with the dads coaching the teams so that hopefully we can make our practices more effective and efficient. We’d like to make a push to do a better job developing fundamental skills -- hitting, fielding, throwing – prior to moving into games. Kids will be grouped as listed below. Parents interested in coaching or assisting (and we’ll need plenty) should indicate their interest on the registration form when signing up, and the organizers listed below will be in touch. Pre-K: Saturday mornings (times TBD), Greg Morvillo. K and 1st: Saturday mornings (times TBD), Alex Samuelson. 2nd: Saturday mornings (times TBD), Mike Quinn. 3rd and 4th: 2x per week (days and times TBD), Andy Ogilvie. 5th and 6th: 2x per week (days and times TBD), Rick Patton 7th and 8th: Babe Ruth league in Bloomfield.
