Football
The GRAA runs a traveling Football program for residents in 3rd through 8th grades. Teams are split by grade (3rd-4th, 5th-6th, and 7th-8th). There are no try-outs or cuts. We participate in the Bergen County Junior Football League. In addition to varsity games, we play "JV" games at each level to ensure all participants receive significant playing time and skill development.
In addition, we are offering a Football Clinic for 1st and 2nd Graders, as we did in 2011. The clinic shall run for 6 consecutive weeks in the Fall, on Tuesday* evenings. (* subject to field availability)
SAFETY FIRST
This year, we are proud to introduce "NEW HELMETS" for all 3rd through 8th grade players. These helmets have been featured in the New York Times and CNN. 2012 PRACTICES
All practices will be at George Washington Field which is on Baldwin Street, near Nicolos Bakery. Practices are in the evenings, 3 times per week, and generally run from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Please refer to the team page for more details on the practice schedule.
2012 GAMES
Each team shall compete in 8 Varsity games and 8 Junior Varsity games throughout the season. The following is our varsity schedule. Home Games are played at Hurrell Field unless otherwise noted. Saturday games will normally start at 8:45 AM beginning with the 5/6 grade team, followed by the 7/8 grade team and 3/4 grade team. Junior Varsity games are normally scheduled for Friday or Monday nights based on field availability. Since we do not have lights at our fields, most of our JV games will be away.
