Tentative 2018 Parade Date is Saturday - April 21
Just a reminder, our annual GRAA Baseball & Softball Opening Day Celebration is scheduled for this Saturday, April 21.
Parade Details: At 10:30am, all players will gather with with their teammates at the intersection of Baldwin St and Sherman Ave. Please have your player dressed in their baseball uniforms. Coaches and parent volunteers will be on hand to help organize/manage the players until the parade begins (volunteers needed!). All others please line the street along the parade route. Please note that Sherman Ave will be closed off to traffic/parking beginning at 10:30am.
At 11am, our very own GRHS marching band will lead the teams down the street to the Sherman Ave field where they will all gather around the infield for the national anthem. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by our special guest, Mark Melito, former AA player for the Royals and GRHS graduate, class of '90. Additionally, a few special members of our community will also be honored for their years of support and dedication to the GRAA baseball and softball programs. After the short ceremony, the players will be released to their parents for food & fun!
Food & Fun: There will be bagels, a Rita's Ices truck and Jack the Jackal, from the New Jersey Jackals, is doing his best to make an appearance!
Volunteers Needed: We will need 3-4 parent volunteers from each team to help organize the players at 10:30am at Sherman Ave and Baldwin St. Please let your coach know if you can assist with this. This is probably one of the most important roles!
Schedule Conflicts: Your coaches will be reaching out regarding changes to your team schedule so that everyone can attend the parade.
Rain Date: In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified via email if the parade will be rescheduled for April 30th.

Many thanks to all who made our Baseball Skills Clinic such a huge success! We had over 60 boys attend.
Special thanks to GR's own Coach Rich Kennedy for putting the clinic together and doing an outstanding job! Extra special thanks to GRHS Baseball Coach Jay Tisseo and his team for running the drills and providing spot-on instruction. Well done!
If you missed the clinic or attended one of the sessions, we thought you might like the following video showcasing the day. Many thanks to Patrick Kilkelly for shooting and editing it together - excellent job! Click the image above to play the clinic highlight reel.
We are excited about changes to the baseball program and hope to build on our past successes for a great 2015 season.
Good luck to all the boys!

GRAA Baseball is always looking for passionate volunteers. Ideally, family members to spearhead the following tasks (no baseball knowledge required, many assignments can be done at your desk, set your own hours, live the dream!) Email GRAA baseball at email@example.com to find out more
Pay To Play – Any child that is involved in GRAA Baseball activities (winter training, travel, in-town, clinics, etc), must pay the registration fee PRIOR to attending the activity. Financial Aid is available as noted below. Children will not be allowed to participate if payment has not been received or Financial Aid has not been requested and provided.
Financial Aid Available – GRAA recognizes the financial hardships many families are enduring. Inability to pay should not hold any Glen Ridge child back from participating in a GRAA sport. Please visit www.GRAA.org home page and click on the Financial Aid link on the bottom of the page for more information and an application.
