Field Operations Coordinator – GRAA Baseball Committee Position – Provide overall coordination of Umpires, Field Schedule, & Grounds
· Umpire Coordination - Once schedule is released sign up umpires for home games, communicate to coaches, provide follow up as needed; Requires email and telephone contact; Performed in advance on your own time
· Field Scheduling - Assist Baseball Commissioner (James Malik) with scheduling of fields for intown and home travel games, communicate to coaches, provide follow up as needed (rain outs etc); Requires email and telephone contact; Performed in advance in conjunction with commissioner
· Fields Grounds – Assist Baseball Commissioner with Grounds assessment and improvement plan, coordinate baseball volunteers to provide additional field maintenance; Performed in advance in conjunction with commissioner
· Field Maintenance / Preparation - Work with your team's coach to assist in preparing field prior to a game; Includes raking, laying or removing tarp, etc.; Happens just prior to games (Must be available on a regular basis in order to qualify for Skin In The Game credit)
Equipment Coordinator – Inventory equipment annually, work with commissioner to purchase new equipment as needed, coordinate equipment distribution to coaches
· Uniforms - Coordinate the Travel uniform order for the season, working closely with intown uniform coordinator to ensure best pricing from vendors etc.; Performed approx 1 month prior to season; Requires email and telephone contact with vendor and admins
· Email/communications – Manage GRAA baseball communications plan in conjunction with GRAA Communications Director, Commissioner and Website Coordinator; Requires email coordination with stakeholders; Ongoing throughout the season
· Website – Assist in managing website content and updates for new GRAA website; In conjunction with Communications committee and Commissioner; Requires email coordination and web access with stakeholders; Ongoing throughout the season
· Public Relations – Establish relationship with local papers to provide consistent pictures & highlights of travel baseball (obtain material through coaches)
· Special events- We are looking for coordinators & volunteers for a number of different events including:
o Opening Day Onsite Coordinator - Work with Overall Opening Day coordinator to organize activities and logistics day of - Volunteers needed
o Team Pictures Onsite Coordinator - Work with Fundraising Chair to coordinate activities on day of Team Pictures - Volunteers needed
o Pitch Hit Run Coordinator - Work with national PHR organization and run GR PHR event - Overall coordinator and volunteers needed
o Subway Series party - Work to prepare or on day of Subway Series event at GR Train Station (May) - Volunteers needed
o Car Wash - Coordinate date, volunteers for annual GRAA Baseball Car Wash (last year, this event made over $1200) - Overall coordinator and volunteers needed
o Concessions - Implement and coordinate concession sales at home games - Overall coordinator and volunteers needed
