Our program has just been expanded to broaden Glen Ridge's reach into the sport of Volleyball!

We have now added a girls and boys travel program that coincides with the high school seasons for volleyball. Until now, our program has operated only in the winter season. But at the HS level, girls volleyball is played in the FALL, and boys volleyball is played in the SPRING.

In an attempt to both build the program through local league travel play, as well as improve our school district's chances to be able to field a HS-level team, we made this decision to build our program as such. We launched GRVC Girls Travel this fall,  and GRVC Boys Travel is coming this spring!

Our winter program will remain essentially unchanged, continuing on our improvement from last year - Our winter program is co-ed for 3rd - 8th graders, offered during the winter season, and consists of two programs: GRAA Developmental Volleyball (3-6th grade) and GRAA Winter Rec Intramural Volleyball League (5-8th grade).

GRVC Travel Program

GRVC Winter Rec Intramural League

Our GRAA Rec Volleyball League is an Intra-Glen Ridge League where we will have skills development through the month of December and game play from January to mid-March.  This program is open to 5th - 6th graders that meet some level of volleyball skill, as determined through a tryout, as well as all 7-8 grades boys and girls that are interested in playing (who also must attend tryouts in order to be selected for a team)!

This year our evaluations will be held on Thursday November 17 at 6:00pm in the Lower RAS gym - (5th and 6th graders 6pm, 7th graders 7pm, and 8th graders 8pm). Everyone must REGISTER for evaluations

We expect to have 6 to 8 teams that will compete within the league, all co-ed and approx 8 players. Game play is 6 vs 6.

GRVC Winter Developmental Program

The Developmental program consists of all 3rd and 4th graders, and any 5-6 graders that need to improve their skills before entering our Intramural Rec League. Training for the Developmental Program this coming Winter season will be on Monday evenings in the Lower RAS gym as follows:

GRVC 18U Club Team Program

GRVC and the Glen Ridge township are discussing the potential for a new 18U travel club program for HS boys and girls. Our focus will be to create a boys and girls team through a tryout process sometime in November or December 2022. The program's goal will be to build teams that can compete at the tournament level and regional weekend tournaments that start mid-winter.
